INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Catching up on posts from the weekend, so have to respond to a couple:

I have pygmy goats, and what fun and aggravation they are! Getting ready to list two 7-week-old does on Craigslist--hate to see them go but need to sell them while they're still little and cute.

TSC in Greensburg said that silkies are selling out as fast as they come in. I went to the Blue Grass show Saturday; my show birds didn't do great but I took 7 PQ silkies and 3 EE youngsters for the sale area--sold them all before I was even set up. A breeder that I know was there with a van load of BQ and SQ silkies and was swamped. I restrained myself and only bought one pair, like I need more chickens.

But they were high quality, good price, and an unusual, beautiful color. How could I resist?

I would buy a doe off you if you were a little closer :( my buck is so attached to my husband that it cries when ever it's not right next to him.

Hey all I am getting very close to getting my girls into their coop. I am looking for Diatomaceous Earth to use in my coop litter and run.

Do you use DE?

Where do you get it/order it from?

What do you pay for it? I don't want to pay too much if you more experienced people have found a great deal out there!

strssdmom~ Since we have a lot of activity on this thread and posts you might have missed, go to Search This Thread and type DE. You'll be able to read lots of suggestions.

kristyg~ I loved your comment: my buck is so attached to my husband that it cries when ever it's not right next to him.
funny! I am much more bonded to our hens than my husband since I work from home, but I heard him talking babytalk to them this morning. ha!

animal lover~ I am shopping for my first aid kit tomorrow and I'll send you a few things, too. I'll let you know after I see what is available.

Good Luck Cluck & Family! I snapped a photo of this stork flying by earlier . . .

Aw crafty, that was so rude of them! That's why I started this thread, no reason for anyone to be rude, we are all here for the same reason, we want to learn & help each other out.
I got 3 white silkies from TSC a few weeks ago, they seem hardy and healthy, Fiesty lil buggers too, jump right in the middle of the group at feeding snacks time! I don't plan to show, and kids are grown so there's no more 4H for us. I just really enjoy having a lot of variety in the breeds I keep.
