INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Hello there !
We are from Fort Wayne and rural Columbia City area. My sister-in-law is moving to the in the Columbia City and Churubusco area and we are looking for some BYC folks who would be willing to help her learn of the little and big details of setting up a BYC operation like: judging how big to build, insulation, ventilation, feeding at different ages, how to deal with mistakes and keep encouraged and etc . Any one out there ?

I'm in CC but I'm new too! We just built our coop. Happy to help if I can though!

animallover~ You should be so proud of yourself, Dr. A.L.!! Did you get any photos? I'm sure that would have been hectic, but I hope you were able to make a record of your first surgery. Which med was purple? The ichthammol ointment?

Welcome Emily~ I personally have noticed several people on this Thread with the attitude of "Sure! What's one more chicken?!" haha So, hopefully someone can help you out.

Welcome chickentender & your sister-in-law~ We have many experienced members who can answer questions. Sounds like you're looking for lots of general information, so if you need an immediate answer about a certain topic, you can type it in Search This Thread (located on the line underneath Post a Reply) and also check out the entire BYC site if you don't find what you are looking for. I also recommend buying a book to have as a handy general resource. Members might want to recommend their favorites. Other sources for information include your local library and of course the Internet. Hopefully, our Indiana BYCers can help and we look forward to hearing from you!

What time does the B-town poultry show start Saturday? The link doesn't give a time!
I'm planning to go but have baseball to get the boys to!!
The building opens at 6 AM; judging starts at 9. If you're not showing, you can go any time.

If you want to look over the sale area, it's best to be there early before they're picked over. LAMom and SebrightMom usually have their sale area set up outside with some nice birds. If you want to see results of judging, early afternoon is best, though sometimes it runs longer, depending on the number of entries. The whole thing is generally over by 3 or 4
.
Any BYCers who go, be sure to look me up--would love to meet you face to face as well as online!
