INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Hey y'all these are my new babies. 13 RIR's, all hens. I am looking for some Silkies and Muscovy ducks if anyone knows where to find them locally. I am in the southeastern part of the state, about 10 minutes from the KY border.

Thanks for the offer Brad.... It was my fault the issue with the chick. Definatly do not need to you replace him from something I did wrong. I had some bonding time with them today. They are possibly the cutiest chicks I have ever laid my eye on. The bantams are looking good. The blue one has the best coloring coming in. I am so thankful we met up. Your chicks are phemoninal!

I made a temporary run on the bantams coops today. DH came home and rolled his eyes and made some mentions about us being "those" people. Pfft... It works darn it. Did make a discovery today that chicken wire has to be one of the most frustrating materials I have ever worked with.

Welcome to the thread. Those chicks are adorable! We have an Indiana members list, located at the bottom of some people's thread... Unable to Link it right now as I am on my iPad. Hopefully there is someone listed on there not too far from you.

I got the quail butchered today. As everything I've read stated, it was pretty easy! I have them soaking in salt water right now in the fridge and wil bag them up and freeze them. I definitely think it will take two for a meal. I found that pruning shears were the easiest to kill and remove head. All in one quick motion, the job was done. Hope they taste good!

Vickichicki-we'll work something out lol. Ill raise up the 3 I have to determine sex and if you need or can use one, we'll figure a way to get it to you. Having just a pair doesn't work out the best. We need to get you atleast a trio lol.

Just broke open the eggs. Looks like none of them made it past the first couple days.... I need to get a thermostat and a new hygrometer before I try again. :(
Sorry to hear this. What kind of incubator are you using? IMO, I would rather them quite early like yours than go all the way to lockdown and then quit. Either way it still sucks though!
