INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Hi Everyone,

I am looking to find out if anyone will have any Turkey poults available for sale end of May, beginning of June. I'm really wanting to try my hand at raising some this year, but only want 5 or 6. The hatcheries have minimums of 15 or more, and that is too many. I'd prefer heritage varieties, but would raise some BB Bronze if they were close and available.

I was considering hatching eggs, but my incubator will be busy with Cream Legbar eggs, and won't be available in the time I'm looking for. So hopefully I can find someone with some just out of the incubator.

I live in Mooresville, and that is central enough that I would consider driving just about anywhere in Indiana (or even Illinois or Ohio if it was a border area) to pick them up. It's always a plus when I can pick them up, cause that lets me meet other victims of chicken math, which i regard as a very good thing!

If you are going to have some, or if you think this might be the incentive you need to throw some in the incubator, drop me a note and we will see what we will see.

I can't say what caused my problem. I'm only saying the medication was counter productive to what people were advising me to do.
I also am totally convinced FF and ACV UP are the way to go for a healthier flock

LEAHs MOM- you are everywhere I can't read a chicken site without coming a crossed a comment or compliment you've posted lol

good luck on the Coronation sussex! I won 25 eggs, the seller assures 30. Good feedback too.Have to throw together some pens but those sure will be easier than coops. Have you started quail yet, I know you were talking about them a while back..

I know a few members have eggs available, hopefully someone can offer poults? Mt Healthy hatchery isn't very far over the line in ohio, and they do offer BBW and BBB poults.

I did hatch, raise, butcher, and ate them. Once I get chickens squared away, ill get more eggs to hatch. I liked them

I lost 2 more feather legged bantams today.

I got the assorted feathers legged bantam from a hatchery and it was my first time doing this. And the chicks are very small. Im starting to wonder if they pick out the runts and sell them as the assorted. Has anyone had problems like this before with assorted bantams from a hatchery? My 3 polish and silkies and ducks are doing great tho. So that is what makes me think its just something to do with the assorted.

They came from Ideal. This is the first time i have ordered from them. My local feed store takes orders from people then has everyone's order shipped in on the same day so that shipping cost is way down to like nothing. They do this several times during the spring.

Man that stinks! I've ordered once through ideal and was happy. Hopefully this is just a fluke.
