shes ok if shes at a dog park but if shes at the house she a brat so i dont know but im hoping the training lession i get monday for her to learn sit stay lay down and come will help some with it but theres a place that trains dogs thats aggressive to people and/or dogs but thats lot of money anyways she ok with cats and chickens just not big dogs but lets hope for the best right?

Then she's territorial, not dog aggressive. What I would do is to introduce the dogs at a neutral place, somewhere your dog hasn't been before. If she acts good, then let them play and get to know each other. I would then introduce on a walk in your neighborhood, and walk them to your house. If she does good in the yard, move on to the house. I doubt a basic training lesson will help very much, although if you can get her to come at your command no matter what, I would say that you'd have a better chance of her not fighting a dog.

H guys, I have been thinking about planning a get together late summer, Either at my place (or somewhere that will allow us to do what I would like to do...) I am about 20 minutes NE of Indy.. (see my avatar, thanks M2H!) I know there's a few of our members that are new to the processing side of chicken keeping. If I wanted to plan an event, like an afternoon few hours thing, who is interested? I would also welcome anyone willing to help teach

My other Ideas on it are: BYOB - bring your own bird. Some of us have a rooster or 2 that has become physco

I am thinking a pitch in would be good too, finger food stuff. This will be a hands on thing, so everyone gets a chance to try it themselves.
I have processed on a few occasions, all were cornish cross so far. My latest processing was my hog, done entirely at home. Also have hunted rabbit, deer, squirrel..My big job coming up are the BBW turkeys. They would be easier to see the process than a chicken. (basically the same jut way BIGGER

) Shout out, or PM me.. If I see there's enough interest I can start offering up some dates.

I would actually be quite interested in this. DH and I have talked about doing some broiler type birds and processing them ourselves... but I've never been anywhere near the process. It would be great to see how it's done and have some hands on experience to see if I could stomach it!

I am going to add my 2 cents on to John's Quail Cage Instructions.

Use zip ties like John suggests. Cheap and fast. (The zip ties. Not John.

)

If I were building a Quail Cage, I would follow Chic-n-farmer's suggestions to the letter. He obviously knows of what he speaks.

Tell him how many chicks and ask what size for the cage.
I used to be cheap and fast. Nowadays, not so fast.
