INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I think you did the right thing by separating her. Especially since she's bleeding. Beyond that I don't know. Be sure she has food/water access.
Vey nice looking rooster. How much does he crow?
Not often, but for a while when once he starts. I don't let them out of the coop until 9 am and they put themselves to bed at 8:30 pm every night. He crows about an hour after I let them out for about 10 minutes and then stays pretty quiet the rest of the day until about 5 or 6. It's pretty much the same every day. I don't mind the crowing. We live in an area where our neighbors don't mind it. The crowing is usually in stereo though because my silkie roo Booker starts in when Gus does.

I will definitely keep him unless he ends up being a rooster that needs a bigger flock (if you know what I mean) I don't have the slightest idea how nice of a roo he is as far as wyandottes go. I got hi from TSC, but I think he is turning out really pretty.

I think I have to get rid of half my flock :/ I'm not forsure but we just dont have enough money for all of them

I am sorry to hear that. We are at 64 birds. It does get expensive for sure. I am not sure I can take any off your hands, but I have some friends who might be able.
Please feel free to PM me and I can see how I can help. Leaving on Sunday so would need to be before then.

I'm sorry. :/ That's hard. Are you selling any of your eggs to friends, etc. to recoup some of the feed cost? Just about everybody loves farm fresh eggs. I have a list of people that ask for them regularly. It doesn't pay for everything but I found it does pay for the feed. I'm sure you probably do that already. I'll be in the same boat soon I'm sure.

Relisted my roosters on Craigslist and had several people reply. One woman saying she would take me and what side of town was I on... Replied with the nearest cross road and have not heard back from her since. I know it can be rough near here but not rough enough you could not get some chickens... Pfft..

Anyhoo, another guy replied and said he would take the Mille and the Sumatra. Told him the Mille was a giant testosterone filed jerk and he was fine with that. He witnessed the Mille being a jerk too, still fine, then heard the screeching from the Mille when I picked him up... Still fine.
Oh happy day!

Went outside after they had gone and loved the silence.

This leaves me with the silkie (who, would you believe started crowing yesterday.. Hahah). I should not have any issues finding him a home.

Feels nice to finally be in a position where I can look out at my chickens and feel accomplished. I have the breeds I like and now have the room for a few roosters of my choosing. Decided I am going to focus more on the bantam Cochins for long term with a few RIR's and EE's to continue the eggs laying. (insert Zen smiley)

How many of them recently won in the showing are mated pairs? People pay more money for fertile eggs from show winners. Maybe that could be on option.
Might also check out any local produce stands, maybe they are willing to give you a good deal on some 'bad' produce they can not sell.
I take all our blemished tomatoes, soft squash and zucchini home for the girls. Cuts the usage of the bag feed down by half. Not to mention the fermented feed also reduces the amount needed to feed with.

Worst case I am sure there are people on here who can help rehome some of your birds.

Congrats on finding a home for for them!! It's hard to do. I'm getting to that point of calm with my flocks now too. It's a nice feeling. :)

Warning!!! Gus pic heavy.

I finally got a couple of good ones today of him. And some of my newly integrated silkies. Booker is one happy boy today.
Hanging out on his crowing stick.

Finallly, a pic without his beak in the dirt.

One happy biy!

Lint balls eating breakfast.

This gus is a lot better at posing than the other Gus.
