still needs paint and shingles but it's secure. Birds go in tonight. Hurray!

I used to turn wrenches also. 25 years. Now I'm a trainer for the new techs and counter people at Firestone. I could pick up my wrenches if I needed to, but don't really want to. We call Explorers Exploders, and have other names for other vehicles.
Hmm... 27 years but I count my days when I was 17 and still in high school. I worked for Firestone for about 2 of those years. They transferred me 3 time, lol. I remember calling the Mazda MR2's MR Nots.

I went back to school and develop software now so I sit at a desk. Building the coop is the most physical labor I have done in years, lol. And I still need to add panels to enclose it for the winter. I don't ever want to fix cars for a living again but I do still have my tools.

Very nice. I wish I could build something that pretty.

Thanks miller birds and thunder chicken! I'm excited. We went from six birds to 15 LF 2 ducks and 7 bantams (and counting) so my carpenter husband did me a HUGE favor. I think he actually enjoyed putting it together more than he thought he would. I've even caught him holding the silkies and my frizzle :). He's a bird man. Just took him a little longer to admit. ;)

Quick question. I got my silkies today and they are younger then expected (2-3 days old). Can I put them under my broody hen who is sitting on nothing now? Will she raise them? If so how? I just don't wanna have to do the whole heat lamp thing again if I don't gotta.

I think it would be alright but I'm no expert. I would put them under her in the evening or at night. Good luck!
