INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I have three dozen eggs in the fridge (good job girls!). I have dough in the bread machine for morning and my coffee pot ready to go. Let's just hope I wake up in time to actually make breakfast ha

Btw, I cancelled satellite and my new 50 mile radius HD tv antenna will be here tomorrow. Excited to try it :). Sianara satellite bill! Be gone!

Welcome! I'm from Kouts so we are near each other :)

That sounds like a good flock! If you post a pic of black sex link we can help you identify what breed it is maybe.

I forgot to you guys what happened at rural king. After I said i was buying all the EEs, and putting them in the box, these people asked me what color eggs the layed. Her husband said remember we have an ameraucana she, they blue eggs. I corrected him telling him how hatcheries mislabel them and everything. So they they asked what color eggs they lay and i went into a whole explanation. They asked what the white chickens were, they were cornish crosses. then after we were checking out. I talked to them some more. They had pics of their chickens and asked what kind they were. They had a mix of RSL, EEs, and BRs. I told them about BYC and everything. the girl was pretty nice, but I do not think the guy liked me lol.
Opps lol, I am that way too, I can't let someone be misled if i see it going on. Sometimes I am sure I make someone upset, but its never meant that way!
Just had a full crisis mode. Chickens going nuts....raccoon in the pen. Still feeling full of adrenaline. Scary stuff
So glad everything worked out ok! Tell your DH he did a brave and gallant thing!

He got the bees in June. Somehow, I'm the only one who's gotten stung, and I'm not even certain it was one of his bees. We are up to two hives now, and he is talking about more (sound familiar.....) They are way less work than chickens though. He only visits them maybe once a week, and actually does something with them besides observing maybe twice a month.
There are 3 things I can't get past the ick factor on.. Bees, spiders and roaches. I hate getting stung, or bit and the roaches are self explanatory

They would be an awesome food source for the chickens, but NAAAAA i will stick with mealies.... eww!

my russian orloff has gotten worse. Another chicken with a torn tendon. I just went through this with my SF a few months ago. i need to cull her. i do not habe the money to uthanize her, and i watched some youtube videos on how to kill chickens and seeing them flailing sround and all i just cant bringyself to do it. I know dhe us in pain though, i think it is something i am just going to have to try and get used to. I am sure i eill bawl my eyes out, but it is better than her being in pain. I know she usny going to get any better, she has not improved at all. I just font want to have to do it.
I am so sorry, its not easy if they are injured and really bothers me..

Julie (M2H) thanks for the link! Now I have to get serious and do it. I want a garden this coming year, even if i have to "hand dig" the whole thing!
