    they are a variety of quail produced by Texas A&M. If I remember correctly they are a white meat quail where regular coturnix are dark meat

    There is a water test, if it floats don't eat it.
    Or if you want to be really safe boil the eggs and feed them back to your chickens.

    Eeek! I was just about to type up a post here that my little Light Brown Leghorn, Whiri, was nesting, and then I heard her cackling! She's laid her first egg!! :ya :weee

    Throw them away, do not eat the. When they sit on eggs they get up to almost 100 degrees, you dont want to eat that.

    Congrats! Looks like a nice big first egg too. I totally want a Brown Leghorn or two now to go with my Silvers.

    I've been wanting leghorns but I was worried about the comb freezing in the winter. Have you or anybody else had experience with that?
