INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Thanks, bradselig! Bonbon is pretty cute with her big brown eyes. When the other hens see me, they run up squawking loudly and Bonbon is right up in the front except she makes squeaky sounds like a mouse. In her mind, she's like everyone else.

Haha. Adeline always cowers in the background. Adeline looks almost as big as my Jersey, but it's mostly layers of feathers. Jersey's legs are twice as thick. If you'd like to see another one of my son Max's slow motion video of the orps' feathers, here's the URL:

It's a little "slow," (it will get you ready for bed-Haha) but the funny part is when my crazy RIR Nene does a photo bomb towards the end. She looks like a rooster.

Here they are with their tail feathers in the air:

For the frozen pizza survey, I like Freschetta rising crust type best with DiGiorno rising crust coming in at a close second. However, with the news about trans fats being banned, our tastes might be changing!
I got two new hens today. They are black jersey giants that were going to be used for the dinner table but my friend gave them to me. I can't wait for some jumbo eggs!
Darth~ I can't wait to see pictures! As everyone knows, my BJG is my favorite. And she's never even laid an egg for me (at least a normal one).

Gunchief- cockadoodledo to you too!! TGIF!!!!

M2h- loved your pics. Bon Bon looks gorgeous with the fall leaves. Addeline need bright green grass to make her stand out!! Beautiful too!!

Happy Friday to all of you. I'm new to this group, so hello. I live in Brown County. I have 7 hens, one of which is broody and trying to hatch chicks as we speak. They were due yesterday, but I didn't see any signs of life yesterday evening. And I have 5 more in the bator now, due tomorrow.

Is there an outlet any of you know of for roosters? I have 2 bantam roosters that were hatched earlier this summer (June), and I'm sure I'll have a few roo's from this batch. I am not opposed to sharing them for freezer use down the road, I just don't care to do it myself. I had an a-hole in Indpls on Wed suggest that since I live in the woods, just let them go live (or die) by way of nature. Sorry, can't do that. Here are a couple of pictures of them if anyone wants them for their beauty and future breeding. They are nice, I just don't want any roosters around. Thanks for any thoughts.

welcome! Those are beautiful roos! Besides posting on here, Craigslist would be my other suggestion. Good luck finding them a new home. Also, take a look at our members page (link in my signature). We have compiled a list of helpful links as well as a members list and members map. If you'd like to be added to the members list, send me your info and I'll be happy to add you. For the members map, you will have to add yourself with a google account. Mother2hens has very nice directions on how to do it, hopefully she will post them soon.
