Friday didn't come fast enough for me!!! Going to be a very busy weekend. Hope you all have fabulous plans with family for the Holiday. I'm probably going to be spending mine in bed...alone. Lol came down with a horrible cold and ear ache just over night. Called my husband told him don't come home... Lol. He gets sick soooo easy and has COPD so he doesn't need t b around me.
Ok here's a stupid question: the bitties aren't going t get sick because of me right? I know the whole cross species thing I don't think they will but wanted to b sure. Also, how do I clean their little pasty butts? They aren't bad but there's a couple with it right now. It's not the sign of something unhealthy is it?

For pasty butt, I've found ACV in the water helped a lot. For the ones that have it, I just use the bandaid method. Just grab the poop and pull quickly! I've found this to cause less stress on the chick than trying to soak it, get it to come off, and then drying the chick.

Well just ordered seed to try fodder! Hopefully it goes well (and I can keep the cat from eating it all! He loves eating plants) and I'll take pictures of my set up.

I'm not to sure what the whites are lol. I got them from RK. They were marked light brahmas. I found out soon they were not lol. I'm thinking 1 is a tetra tint. She has some black feather spots. The other 2 I have are all white. They are egg laying machines though. And the friendliest of the whole bunch. They will come sit on my lap and fall asleep. Sunday when they saw me coming, 2 of them flew out of the coup to try and land on me, about 30' away, they over shot me and landed in the boat lol.

DUCK! I love when they all barrel out of the coops, too fun! Lately tho, noticing more seem to think its ok to land on mom, limit is really 2! So I am trying to break the habit, and at least wait til I sit on the lawn chair to visit. I have even had my glasses knocked off they get so excited.

Guys, Anyone have recommendations? I will be shopping for a food vacuum sealer soon, looking into brands, options etc.
Noticing some of the cuts left from our hog are freezer burnt, mostly the soup bones.
Also a large scale band style meat saw, we are working out our list for home processing next year.

I can't really help you with recommendations, but Lowes is clearancing out all small appliance except coffee makers and sweepers. So you might be able to find a good deal on a vacuum sealer!

LOL! Part of starting up my Facebook pages was to be done with eBay. People crack me up. I guess it's my fault that her eggs got "frozen" ever though she decided to buy them during freezing temps! Offered to reship if she paid shipping. She declined and filed a claim and left negative feedback. We will see what PayPal decides on who gets the money. According to buyer, if you write "Do Not Freeze" on the package the USPS will ship your package in an climate controlled environment! Except if you call them (and wait over 2 hrs on hold) you will find out this is not the case and they don't have special handling for freezable items. Some people! I don't think the stress is worth it to sell on eBay. I guess I'll use BYC and Facebook from now on!

X2, ACV does seem to help a lot. It can be caused by shipping stress and.or chilling.

I've got a food saver and have had it for the last 4 years. I love it! I use it a lot. In fact I just put all my meat chickens in them. I don't have any idea on the meat saw though.
