Those of you that use the "ring" bands, can you send a link that shows where you got them? Not having used a band before, it seems that it would be really hard to get them on and off.
I've been thinking about the zip ties (which you can get really cheap at TSC or places like lowes, etc.). I did see the other day the Flemming sells the zip ties for use as bands http://www.flemingoutdoors.com/chic...=chicken-leg-bands---zip-ties&channelid=LSCA2
If I use them I'd leave them very loose.

I thought that is what they were at first.Has anyone tried the colored bracelet bands that are so popular with the kids lately? They remind me of bands for dental braces, but aren't nearly as stiff. Very inexpensive too. I paid $12 for 2500 for the kids to make bracelets.

I'm not about to say this is the best deal or the right size. I won't let my girl get started on them yet as they are choking hazards for my youngest.
Awwww man...incubator is occupied. Drat!If anyone is interested I have 6 hatching eggs from my Blue Self turkeys. I am selling them for $30 plus priority shipping of $10.
My dummies eat foam board, so far it hasn't killed them. I used it as a quick-fix barrier between my vicious black cock and my gray. When I lop the black's head off I will check the gizzard for foam. lolSo my stupid chickens, no I was not under the impression they were smart, decided to eat foam insulation while I was at work today. They pecked off a good portion from a place they have never looked twice at before. I actually did not realize they could get to it. I am really hoping they don't have issues because of it. They had plenty of food. Big dummies. Any one else ever had this happen?
I'm so sorry. I know how attached one can become to a chicken. I process my own birds but still have certain ones that I love.Thank you, like you and Blizzy, I feel privileged to have shared time with Jersey. I miss her so much.![]()
Lav leghorns! Pretty but expensive! I'll stick with white!Ok, I'm trying to be good and not add any new breeds, but these are so tempting!
One if the most beautiful bird I've seen!

I have kept you in mind despite not commenting. My own father underwent quadruple bypass surgery eleven years ago. It is so hard to see your dad like that, I'll cry just thinking about it.Not yet, we are all but waiting next to the phone for the call. The wait is really hard for him, he is not an idle man...
One dr thinks it will be very soon, the other is saying 6 months.
He had a call from the symphonic choir (he is a tenor in the group) And he said yes if he is able![]()
At 80, I want him to do the things he loves, and still can! But I told him he is NOT allowed out in these temps.
This was very dangerous for elderly and heart patients.... everyone for that matter!
Gorgeous!!!A few more pictures of some chickens. Got some of the bantam Cochins. The lavender is molting. Can't wait to see how they all turn out.
