I appreciate the offer of a home, however short lived I will keep that in mind if I get "packing peanuts with peanuts) I completely understand, I wish I could separate emotion enough to raise some to eat. My goal is to find a DH that can keep some emotional distance and handle that part. So far no luck!

I know! I wonder how hard it would be to find a cheap used one! Something to start looking for! It would be worth a few hundred bucks even if it only covered part of the run!

Has anyone seen this picture of a car port coop? How cool is that!?!? I would never have to shovel the run again!!! Putting this idea away for the future....Although I don't think car ports are all that cheap.

I often run out to open chickens and feed in my jammies and crocks... yes I regret it after I'm out for a min or so

It came across my facebook feed and I couldn't believe how cool it was! I bet if you googled it you could find a few variations and some info on how to do it. I'm filing the idea away for when my bank account runneth over (not looking like any time soon!).

I am anxiously waiting for notice that my Ideal chicks have shipped. I don't know how I am going to function for the next few weeks!!!! They are supposed to ship today. Has anyone ordered from Ideal before? How long does it normally take for them to arrive?

It feels ridiculous! Like all my chicken knowledge of the past 9 months is way undervalued! There was no way to change my account name, though, so I had to open a new one. The "man" keeping us down with crazy restrictions Still no news on chick shipment! I'm checking my email every other minute! I also had major insomnia last night, not sure if it was chick excitement related or what. At 2 am I woke up and realized that the goo I had felt in my barn jacket earlier in the evening was a crushed egg, that was my first time doing that. I'm pretty sure that cognitive gold nugget realization could have waited for a more reasonable hour!

I'm up all night every night... just me, wish I could sleep for a solid 4 hours even, that would be great. BUT......
