INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I think egg number 5 may finally be hatching! I'm not sure what will happen with the sixth one. It wasn't internally pipped this last night. I may check again tonight and see what's going on with it.
Do you have an incubator you could put it in if it's still good so you don't risk momma abandoning it?

Joining late but I am from NW Indiana (Crawfordsville area) and have had our chicks just under a year now. We are lvoing it and have to say we have learned a lot this winter about chickens and what they need during this time (I know we have had a bit more difficult winter than normal). Glad I found you other IN chickens lovers :)
Welcome! I am impatiently waiting on May for our first chicks. You will love this thread. Very knowledgeable, friendly folks!

Number 5 hatched!! I went in with a flash light and found the egg shell. I reached in thinking I grabbed one of the other babies and out came an almost dry little guy. I candled the sixth egg. It's fully developed, all dark except for the air cell. I can't tell if it's moving or not, if it is it's very very slight. I put it back under her to see what it will do. I'm so happy the little peeper hatched! It's the same color as the others. I believe they will all be white. Silver based whites look slightly blue as chicks, and gold based look yellow and buff. I'm good with it. My whites are my prettiest I think. They are a pain to keep clean though.

Shhh! What you really mean is the current bid is outrageously high and anyone who bids higher is a fool!
Yep, I miss typed
