INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I need to re-home René. He managed to beat up my Banty Roo and I can't handle having two roosters crowing in contest...
All. Day. Long.
The majority of my girls are bantys and he is ravaging them.
So here he is... He's quite striking, a Birchen Maran I got from Brad Selig.

I also have this little mystery cockerel that came from Brad, too!

He's a Maran mix of an unknown father, :D

Both are free to good homes...or freezer camps.

That Birchen roo is pretty, but wow! So much gold! I do have a roo that's more golden than I'd like, but no were near that gold! The other two Roos saddle and hackle colors are great. I think I will need to cull my first roo from the breeding program.

And for anyone curious about the little barred cockerel. It is actually from a Birchen Marans roo over buff and white naked necks (columbian pattern) and white rocks hens Can anyone tell me where the barring came from? The only barred birds I have are the legbars and there is no way the legbar roo got in the free ranging flock and my legbar hen who was in with the Marans wasn't laying at the time (plus the barred cockerel hatched from a brown egg, not blue).

This is a straight on shot. Her head is literally turned nearly upside down! She's stumbling everywhere!!! She's only 17 hrs old, I've bn giving her vitamins in her water and even let her hav some straight from th eye dropper. She can't eat unless she's held and the food is softened with th vitamin water. I had 8 Silkie eggs only 4 hatched, two hav already died she's #3... I don't want t lose another one... Please help.

Maybe wry neck. Anyone with more silkie experience know? Brad, Kab? Good luck with your chick

She has wry neck, she needs poly vi sol Right away! https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/464937/wry-neck-help

I put poly vi sol and ACV in my silkies water everyday for the first 6 weeks at least. Never had a case of wry neck. She needs a good dose by carefully droppering some on her beak and some in her water. Be careful not to aspirate her, dont force it down her throat by accident. Try to keep her upright in an tea cup lined with a wash cloth or something so she cant hit her head. Keep her warm At only 17 hours old she really doesnt need to eat or drink yet, just get vitamins in her. Dont overdose her, give her time. Just protect that vault. If she doesnt get better , it could be neurological, she has a rather large vauted skull.

Thanks, I'm thinking wry neck also but how do I treat it? Is it treatable? Am I going to lose ANOTHER sweet little fluffy butt?

I've bn dosing her with poly vi sol for th last four hours. At least twice an hr. I feel so useless watching her suffer like this! I think I'm cried out! Can't believe my luck with hatches, don't know what I'm doing wrong...or not doing.
