Why not the Cochins too? I love the color of the splash roo, but hate his "type".

And the big guys. I thought LF Cochins didn't lay very well? I've gotten 5 eggs from the past 6 days!

Today has actually been a pretty great day. Haven't seen my chickens yet either and they are usually what makes my day better! In BYC related news, I got an email from nifty chicken today. They informed me that they were looking at the list of members with the most ovations and I was in the top 0.01%! Couldn't believe (still can't). Maybe I am just super happy about everything good that happened today, because yesterday kind if stunk lol. Anyways, big thanks to everyone who has given an ovation!

Bargersville here! We raised a flock of Rhode Island Red/Plymouth Rocks last year but every last one of them turned out to be the meanest darned roosters and we got rid of them. We just ran across freshly orphaned Black Duck eggs (trust me, mama is gone) and we are incubating those. Seven little eggies, all viable after candling and seem to be around 8 days today.![]()
