on the auto door there are lots of things to think about.

The timed opening and closing have benefits including keeping roosters in a bit longer so crowing is not as loud in the morning.
The light sensor is nice for times when the days are getting longer, no adjustments are needed to make sure all chickens go in. Same is true for darkness falling early no adjustment needed to keep out predators.

The metal ador door is great even with the extra vents. Those tiny holes let in lots of cold air in this extreme winter. I locked my door on the extreme days to prevent the frozen poo issues. My chickens would not go out anyway so why not.

The ador has no exposed wiring that is a plus for me.

No she wasn't old enough to lay yet. I wish I knew what happened to her. Unfortunately there is no Purdue type facilities around here. I'd be afraid what the outcome would be but from the little I know of chickens I'd say she was poisoned. My neighbor just told me he put out rat poison on Sunday to try to control the growing population in his yard. The idiot has no concern for anyone or other creatures who might get into it. I'm almost positive that's what killed her now. I'm going to have to be very observant and alert to where all my babies are from now on. To all my friends with kind sympathetic words, I so appreciate your thoughts. THANK YOU. I know others have bn through worse than losing one bird, God Bless you I have no idea how you made it through. So many emotions!!!! Mostly angry at my neighbor!

I ordered two packages from the Apple blossom in Star City, it cost me $135ea :0! They will be here mid to late May.

I have ordered from them in the past and have 3 hives of their bees now. Got them early, April 7th this year. If you order from other bee suppliers, you will be lucky to get them before May.

Do any of you know of anyone here in Indiana that has Yamato Gunkei birds? I am planning on picking up some eggs from Greenfire Farms in 2 weeks on our return trip from a volleyball tournament. It would be nice to find some closer to home but I'm sure that I'm getting top-notch birds from Greenfire.

I'd be afraid what the outcome would be but from the little I know of chickens I'd say she was poisoned. I'm almost positive that's what killed her now. I'm going to have to be very observant and alert to where all my babies are from now on. Now that would be the best bet. She might have got into rat poison. I understand your frustration with your neighbor. I have one that was shooting at a mole. Shooting the gun strait at the ground! The bullets were bouncing all over the place. Ones went through the trees. By the way you described her behavior I really don't think she had a disease. So sudden and took affect quickly. And t doesn't matter how many you lose it still isn't fun. And it is almost always your favorite

I'm at Rockville (US36) and 465, myself. I think there might be another chickener in my neighborhood, but I'm not sure yet.

That is a definite possibility. In any case, back up everything you care about. I know I'm repeating myself. Its that important.

You could certainly take the machine to a pro for diagnosis. Or you could find some nutter you hardly know who will do it for the joy of depriving the modern disposable computer industry of one more sale. (Pick me! Pick me!)
