INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

The meeting to discuss the ordinance is MONDAY JUNE 2nd AT 630PM

I need to find the location still but when I do I will post it here. I will be finding out this afternoon.

The babies are 4-8 weeks old. The older ones are smaller birds, silkies and a legbar. I have
3 blue partridge/gold partridge brahmas
2 legbar pullets
1 golden comet
1 tetra tint
3 silkies
1 blue orpington

Then my older birds are
1 rir pullet
2 blrw pullets
1 golden comet pullet
1 blrw cockerel
1 blue cochin pullet

And the blrw cockerel I'm finding a new home for with sally.
sent you a pm

Ugh lost a chick last night :( I'm not sure what's going on with them. I thought it might be cocci because I was seeing some bloody stool but they've been on corrid for three days now and don't necessarily look any better.

Oh my your post made me cry. I will be there - let me know where. I would take your babies but we are leaving and it would be too many for my neighbor to deal with (they are a little overwhelmed bu my 6). . I am in Shock - no clue Lawrence did not allow chickens. I found this facebook page from last August petitioning Lawrence to allow chickens- https://www.facebook.com/Lawrencebackyardchickens?ref=stream&fref=nf

So sorry, I pray you don't lose any others!

It's Monday at 630 at the government center on 59th and post. Please please spread the word and get people to come!

I didn't believe it at first either - then I remembered that Lawrence is one of the excluded towns. Punks.

If you live in Beech Grove, Southport, or Speedway, you might want to look at the ordinances there, too. I'm not in one of those, but I'm going to look at their laws now, and I'll report what I find.

Awww, I'm sorry. Even though I'm sure it is a relief, it is still sad when you look out and don't see them any more. Did your flock dynamic IMMEDIATELY change? Mine sure did when my roos left!!
It's quieter. I still have Blueberry my big cochin roo. He is just maturing at a year and a half old, and is in that chase the hens to mate them phase. The girls mostly just avoid him right now. Gus was their leader, so they are a bit lost.

Then hens aren't getting overmated anymore due to the competition between the boys, so they are more relaxed. I have two little black standard cochin cockerels that I'm growing out along with 13 new girls, so I'm hoping by the time they mature, depending on if I keep them both or not, there will be enough girls to go around. With Gus and BB there were only 11 mature girls. They all look like they have hen pattern baldness. I really just want my pretty ladies back! I'm concentrating on my silkie and standard cochin breeding, otherwise I would have kept Gus and separated the boys or something. This way I can collect eggs from the cochin ladies and know they are pure, and not mixed. I dont have the set up to separate too many breeds right now.

Chickens are illegal in Speedway.
