INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I usually go to all of them that are there since it's only about 20 minutes from my house. This will probably be my first time selling there though. I will be taking my black mottled Polish/Houdans and maybe some of my micro pigs. (Going to be sad to see them go- I love to watch them run and play.)

Are they tea cup pigs? PM me I may be interested in one.

I agree, being a string man means you don't see your chickens at all during the fair season. That wouldn't be fun at all nor would dealing with all the things you'd be exposing your flock to.

I found a chick on my barn floor. I don't know how it got there because the broody isn't even in the barn anymore. No shell or anything. Just a cold but alive chick. So now it is in my room under a heat lamp warming up

Ask and you shall receive.

The grey one in the front is the one that was hatched this morning, it's pure polish (golden laced x silver laced), the black one is a Polish/Houdan (silver laced x black mottled) that hatched yesterday, and the light one is an Indian blue peachick that hatched yesterday.

They are so tiny!!!! Lol I love polish!!!! I am th one that got Racins Buff Laced Polish. She is such a sweetheart!

That's all we use too if we start from seed. Love their heirloom varieties, following them on Facebook and look forward to getting their catalog to plan for 2015! One year we did an all purple garden with seeds from them. Eggplant, purple green beans, purple bell peppers, purple tomatoes. My fav color is purple. :)

What a fun idea! I love purple too!! Aren't the Baker Creek catalogs awesome? Did they send you the big Whole Seed Catalog this year? It was like a coffee table book!
I got my first blue EE egg today. Yay! I know, no picture, shame on me. I'll get one tomorrow. I'm going to blow it out for preservation. ;-)

That reminds me - anyone here do shell carving? I think it's fascinating, and I'm very interested!
If you try it you should use duck eggs -- mine are a lot stronger than the chicken eggs.

I want to tell everyone thank you for understanding how I feel, most people ( non-chicken people) just say " its just a chicken whats the big deal. Then I get mad. and that just don't help. I'm trying to just keep busy and not think about it too much.

The snake has really put a damper on my egg basket I found out that Guinea keep snakes away. So I am going to try and find me 2. We are hoping that 2 wont be that noisy and the neighbors wont throw a fit. So if anyone needs to rehome a couple and your not too far away, let me know please.

Looks like the chickens are going to roost in the barn again tonight. This is going to be hard to break once I finally catch that dang snake.

I only got 8 eggs today and they were found all over the place. got no green eggs, no blue eggs, no pink eggs, and didnt get my jumbo cream egg today either!!! this snake has to go !!!!!!!!!!!
