I'm the same way you were. Just can't bring myself to touch those things. I can't even really look at them. They're just icky... Gives me shivers just to think about the part I quoted above!

Went out this afternoon and one of my chicks is gone We had a hawk visit later so I assume that's where it probably went. Thank goodness we were out in the yard this time, it didn't get anything!

Oh and I have a sick bird I'm not sure what to do with

So sorry for your loss! Can you list the symptoms of your sick bird so that someone might be able to help?

No others hatched . But do still have 2 more eggs incubating. Hoping for the best with them. Trying to increase humidity a little to see if that helps.

Yes, very small. They were pullet eggs. So this chick is getting a little extra attention.

They are growing up soooo fast!! I put them into the coop tonight for the 1st night out there. I have been out there every couple hours to make sure they are ok, and they seem to be loving it. But now as it is getting dark, I am getting worried about predators !! LOL Is that normal? I have double, tripled checked doors, cracks, corners... and see nothing dangerous, but then again, Im not a predator.... I'm so scared!! LOL

BTW What kind of chicken do you think she is? Here is a pic of her standing up...
