Aw, thanks for the offer, but I'm looking more for a bantam rooster since I have bantam hens in my flock. My little Sebrights would be crushed underneath a big rooster!

Aw, don't feel bad! The only reason I knew about it was because I check the Announcements board a lot and they posted an announcement when they debuted Ovations. I don't know if there's a way to set them to give you a notification, at least onsite, but all you have to do is check your profile and you can see if you've gotten any new ones.

I still have a quad of old English game bantams, silver duckwing, 1 rooster....... sorry I had to lol

Well, we have one wall of the duck coop put together and painted, only needs the hardware cloth on the vent. It'll need another coat of paint, too, because the hens have been walking on it. Such great helpers. I guess that's what I get for painting it during free-range time.

Or of you don't paint it again, it will have a neat design lol

Free rooster to good home. Not big enough to butcher! Columbus/Seymour/greensburg area. His name is Bernie - Rhode island red x bantam Cochin cross. Beautiful bird. Pictures don't do him justice. I love him with all my heart but I can't have him fighting with his dad. So he is in need of a one roo kind of flock. Spunky and full of life. Not super loud for a rooster. Hatched mid November. He is the love of my life and I would like to see him happy. Pm me if interested.

Also have white rock roo. Free to do as you see fit. Handsome fellow, not too bright though. Hatch date is probably February or so. I have pictures if interested. Was going to go to freezer camp but he needs to go now. Pm me if interested.

I live in Columbus area. Willing to meet half way with anyone willing yo offer him a home. He has till the end of the week...

I would love that, but it's mostly scratches that they have left and the wood needs weatherproofing. Plus this wall will be up against another wall, so no one will really see the neat design anyway. But maybe I could let them walk on the other walls after they've been painted... I do have another color of paint around somewhere...

Oh, gosh, you guys are killing me! I really shouldn't add any more birds to my flock at the moment... My coop's awfully full... This is really testing my resistance to chicken math.

I had another almost dog incident yesterday. One of my Isbar hens must have made it into the dog yard somehow (they are so small she probably fit through the fence) and I saw No-No-Bad-Dog take off looking far too excited and then heard panicked sqwaking. I started shrieking and took off at a run and just as I was about to turn the corner I saw a panicked Hen flying off towards the coop trailing a puff of feathers. I thought for sure she must have been damaged. No-No-Bad-Dog came running with a face full of feathers and immediately put herself in her kennel (she knows the behavior is bad....she just doesn't care). I went over to check the Isbar over and I couldn't even tell which one it was..... other than losing some butt fluff in her attempt to get back through the fence with a dog hanging off her rear she seems relatively unscathed and hopefully a bit more street smart now.

What an ordeal! I wish the dang birds would just be happy in their 3 acre area!!!!! And it is not a surprise that the dogs have the run of the yard...the chickens are very used to seeing them over there...

I only have the small pug mix here, and an occasional visit from Charley, the tiny beagle mix from the neighbor. My lil Sadie avoids the birds, and barks...up close she is friendly with them, the chicks at least. She is terrified of larger birds.
My birds react in terror of a dog, and I want it that way.The few strays we had here were a disaster with my goats. It will have to change if we are ever to find a LGD.

X2... I am cutting some breeds out already. My GLW left tonight, hardest ever to see go

they were my first layers. Trevor was very excited to take them home, and start his breeding project for 4H next year. Red, my oldest rooster, Betsy and Spike will be missed here. They will be 3 next year, so not a good age for a farm. Fantastic age for a 4H project and an energetic young man!
