INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Now if it were my flock and I was getting two more and had these breeds to pick from I would get two bantam mottled Cochins. Because I don't "need" any of the other breeds, but I need more mottled Cochins

I do like the look of those mottled bantam Cochins. :love I hear you on need versus "need".

Busy weekend, so I am catching up . . .

@pipdzipdnreadytogo   You have some Lucky Ducks! I'm not sure if I've heard of a duck coop before. Where's the indoor pool?

Well, I don't have them just yet, but hopefully this Saturday I'll find a nice pair of Snowy Call ducks to put in my little duck coop. :D I have actually seen a couple indoor duck pools now over on the duck forum! :th I went for ease of cleaning--their pool will be at the bottom of the hill in their yard, a good walking distance from their coop!

I have started scooping my oegbs and the little sebrights up too, they all are looking uncomfortable and ruffly. The little girls are spending a lot more time on my lap if i sit down, snuggling. They want to be in the big birds coop so badly! They have their own winter coop I can confine them to and keep them warm. If I do keep my quail going thru the winter, they will be going in there also.

Rosie usually does fine with the temperature change, but she's naked right now during her molt, so she's having issues with the cold. :/ My silver Sebrights all molted a month or two ago and are all set, luckily!

Woke up around 3 and wound up here. Just wanted to catch up! Goodnite guys :th

Haha, this is usually where I end up, too, if I wake up in the middle of the night!

Thank you @jchny2000 for the suggestion but the little duckling with the eye problem did not make it through the night. All the other 5 are crazy active today. The other eggs still have not hatched. I am going to give them till Wednesday or she decides to give up and check them then. She is not getting up at all, I had to clean broody poop out from behind her.

Yuck!!! She does have food and water within reach and is teaching the ducklings how to eat and drink, so cute.

Update on Rosie, she spent the night in the coop last night and is doing well as of this morning, except she really hates her sweater and refuses to walk properly with it on. :/ Some of the big girls started beating up on her because of how she's acting, so I had to separate her from most of the flock. She and the silver Sebrights are separate, with Violet the Bielefelder and Poppy the Legbar. I decided to put Vi over there because she has a hard time fitting in with the flock, but the Sebrights started pushing her around as well, so Poppy went in for moral support. I really love Poppy's temperament. She stopped hanging out with the little girls a while ago, but she doesn't push them around or anything, and she always seems to stick with Violet when Vi is getting picked on. :love Everything seems to be working out with this setup, so hopefully now little Rosie can regrow her feathers in peace. :)
