You all are always talking about hawks and how your chickens react. Today I saw a Coopers hawk fly up and land in a tree in the back yard. I went out and chased him off. My free ranging chickens what did they do? NOTHING they did not react at all. That is the 2nd time that has happened, The first time I saw a hawk swoop in low in the back yard. I ran out and the chickens were up aganst the garage but acted like nothing was happening. I guess sooner or later one will disappear. (I hope its the hawk)

I talked to a fellow not far from me that is selling one week old chicks from this pair of German Bielefelder chickens. He's selling a hen chick and a rooster chick for $20/pair. I'm just not sure if I need young chicks this time of year. But, they are beautiful birds.

Hello Hoosiers! I kept Banties years ago and just got back into full sized layers. I have 30 young Isa Browns that are laying nicely! I'm averaging 28 eggs per day. I'm near Woodburn, In, east of Ft. Wayne, near the Ohio line.

Hello all thought i'd stop in and say hello! All is good just been busy with the new farm and getting things done for winter. Ran into kabhyper1 this afternoon (don't forget about Saturday!!) she reminded me I had not been on here for a day or two... Things are going great we are going to add a German Shepherd pup to the fam and farm!! Can't wait if anyone knows of available pups or will be available please let me know. Thanks hope everyone has a great Christmas and happy new year!!!!
