INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

And on our Tilde, yes, and then she regrew her crest like the spiteful little thing she is.

I was just about to post pictures, but here's one of her today. She was getting a dust bath going.

And Tilde, not doing anything suspicious.

Action shot!

Looks like one of those Russian hat thingies... Poor thing! How's she doing socially?

And a few other pictures of the day.

The old girl herself, Cubby. She was giving me the look of 'enough with the pictures--make with the food!'

Grim. I think ALL ees look Grim.

I thought I would post this here since I know some of you guys are tech savy.

I sent some emails out and after I sent them a few minutes later, the email I had sent was in my inbox like someone had sent it to me. But it says from me to someone else. So why is it going into my inbox?

Copied and paste for you guys to read.

Hi. We are writing you today to notify you of our upcoming swap meet.

We changed the name to Northeast Indiana Poultry, Waterfowl, and Exotics Swap Meet, because we had it brought to our attention at the swap meet last year that people might not know that the term poultry encompasses more than just chickens. We gladly welcome ducks, pigeons, turkeys, geese, pheasants, quail, etc. In fact we encourage it! We are hoping for a much larger turn out this year. We also lowered the cage rental prices-the only reason we even charge for the cages is to try and cover the cost of the building. We hope to see you all there! The information is included below.

Date: Saturday- April 25,2015
Place: Poultry building at the Wells Co. 4-H grounds
Location: Bluffton, IN
Time: 10am-2pm (please do not show up early an expect to be allowed in the barn early. This was an issue last year. When the big doors are open, you are welcome to come in.)
Vendor Fee (1 table)=$7
Cage Fee(1 cage)=$3
Admission=FREE!!!

Aside from the poultry, waterfowl, etc that people we will bring to sell, we hope to have some vendors selling supplies and books. There will e at least 1 vendor guaranteed!

We greatly appreciate pre-registering. We don't ask for money upfront, we just ask for your word that you will be selling. It also a big help to let us know what you are bringing. This helps us let people know what to expect to be there.

To register or ask questions, please email [email protected]

Thank you!

My brooder is in my bedroom too.

Silkied birds are not for me lol.

That is kind of a difficult question to answer. They were accepted in 1984. But for a young breed they have a lot of prior history. The bantams were created in the 70s. The LF have a lot more history in my opinion. There is a very lengthy article about it on the club website. It is pretty interesting, makes for a good read. I would suggest reading it

:th Okay, I have no excuses. Actually, going back through baby pictures, I found some compelling reasons for them to stay that small... :love Dorking babies!

She's doing really well, actually! She seems to fit in as well as anyone else. She does the duck-and-run every once in a while when one of the big girls gets pushy with her, but she also keeps the youngsters in their place and will take on almost anyone at roost time. And, of course, she still does her grump-grump noise when she doesn't get her way.

And yes. Most of my Easter-eggers are air-heads, but man can they pull off some evil looks!

I will admit I get like no sleep for a month lol. They are loud. Hopefully the heat plate helps with that.

It definitely does! Once it's dark, they're all piled underneath asleep. :) A few might get stirred if you turn the light on for a bit when you enter the room, but they seem to calm down nicely once it's dark again. Definitely love my heat plate for that! :D
