Hey all been awhile i in the middle of a new project and am in need of 3 blk breda hens and a breda roo can anyone help?

you might check with @BarbS. She is the only one on here that I know of who raises Breda.

My turkeys won't show their coloring till about 4-6 weeks at the soonest.  So far the poults that I have kept hoping for blues are looking very much like blacks. 

Now my blue sumatras are a bit different.  Some come out clearly blue others clearly a white that turns to splash.  Then there are the blues or blacks that have a bit of cream fuzz on their bellies.  Those can go either way.  Typically they turn into pet quality blue or black sumatras but I have gotten a few white splashes too from the almost solid colored puff balls.

My BLRW, it is a wait and see game for the final color too.  At least for me I can't say if the chick will be a blue or a splash from day 1.  I can say I think this is a darker wyndotte and those chicks have not turned into any blues.

Well I looked up some pics and it seems to be true for the Blue Wheaton AMs also. As chicks they are all yellow fluff! So for the first time I can remember, besides sex, it will be a surprise on who turns to what.

Onto other news. I candled 3 of the first clutch of Peahen eggs last night and I see Notta! Granted they were only on roughly day 5 since I set them in the evening of last Friday. Fellow Pea raiser said its a good chance it's just too early. I have 8 more in another bator that I just set Monday. Only 1 of those are from mine. I haven't gotten another egg since either. I honestly never caught which of my girls it was and I only have seen him mate with one of them so?? Maybe they aren't from her and aren't fertile. The IB Black Shoulder is somewhat new here so perhaps she hasn't warmed up to Ol' boy that much.

I really need to go hunting for nests in the woods better too just to be sure I just can't find time!

With 3 of our boys playing baseball, high school ball and little league our weeks are now filled with multiple games and or practices almost every night. It's really wearing us both down already! Sigh... But the boys love it so what are ya gonna do!? I was lucky to mow the yard finally on my lunch hour+ got some weeds pulled and weedeat. Tasked the teenager with dishes while we were juggling more practices tonight.

I have a broody Australorp that won't give up on her eggs. I'm not sure if they are good or bad. I would like to move her into my garage to set on some other eggs (not that I need anymore but why not). How should I go about doing this?

candle the eggs she is on. If they are no good toss them and put the eggs you want her to hatch under her. Then make her an area in the garage with a nest area and food and water close. Enough room for her to get up to eat and go to the bathroom. Put her eggs in new nest. Put her in the new nest in the dark. I move mine all the time. They are in a trance most of the brood soas long as there are eggs under her and she is in the dark she should stay on them.

I move mine at night. If I'm nervous about the broody sticking with the new eggs, I put a towel/blanket over the cage to keep things darkish for the 1st day. Remove it that night & by the second morning, she'll already be used to her new digs.

A "synonym-ental" interpretation of @raisinemright 's comment: I don't want my chicken to get a licking from a mean chicken.

Warning: graphic photo. Vet visit this week: Apparently a dog bit my cat, and the dog's teeth met in the middle.

Poor Tiger! He's small-sized, neutered, and non-agressive. And lucky that it wasn't worse! Tiger was sedated, given pain meds, wound cleaned, a few stitches, antibiotic injection that lasts two weeks (yay!) He is doing well. I did take his cone collar off about an hour after we got home. I felt the stress of it outweighed the benefit of ensuring that he won't pull his stitches out. So far so good. His liquid pain med is easy to give him, so he mostly rests. Eight years ago, Tiger (approx. 6 months old) appeared on our deck one night and was mentored by our old, grouchy senior cat, Tom (now deceased). It was really interesting to see Tom look out for Tiger and teach him things although he always wanted Tiger to keep his distance a few feet away.

I hate taking pics with the red lamp but I just had to share my Wheaton AM chicks arrived this morning! I ordered 10 with Blues too but appears only Wheaton and only 7.
