INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I wait a full month before I will hatch, that way i know they are pure birds. My EE are truly "mutts" but I wanted to know both parents were the blue gene for the eggs. I have cut back on so many breeds, aside from my MGB, LO and EE that are confined, I have about 12 odball breed birds left. Beilie hen and 2 very young rooster chicks lol.
Focusing more on MW and BR turkeys, Muscovy, Chinese and Embden geese and will still be keeping coturnix quail.

We home brew and I always feed the grains. Not Hops but just the grains.

I don't dry them. We just made a batch today and I let it cool and immediately threw it out for them. They love it!

Okay and Thanks Ellymay, use to do a little myself but only got as far as using kits....I never did it long enough to get into steeping grains etc. ( Would love to get back into it one day soon!!!!

Also I wanted to say THANKS to pginsber and anyone else who welcomed me here and I hadn"t responded yet, what a great buncha folks here!!!!!

I want silkies but now that I'm picking up 6 turkeys I'm a little worried about tiny silkies even when full grown being in the same coop. It's about 14 ft by 10 ft. Might have to sell some turkeys or build another coop.

Sophie kidded around 9am this morning. Meet our newest little doeling

Sugar is due any day!

Would anyone here want $2 off coupons for Naturewise chick starter from Rural King? They expire in November but I know I won't use them as I get game bird starter at the mill and gradually change over to either all flock or layer depending on the roosters in the pen.
I have quite a few.

I think I need an intervention. I have a serious chicken addiction. We went to get 4 silkies, 4 polish, and 4 buckeyes. That's 12 right? Nope it is 19 in the chicken math world! 4 silkies, a sizzle, only 3 polish, a show girl i fell in love with, a turken and 9 Buckeyes. See I remembered while i was there that @jchny2000 had a friend who lost all her buckeyes. Since I couldn't get ahold of her of course I HAD to bring some home just in case. Well she already got what she needed and DH wants to keep them all, depending on how many roos we end up with that need to be rehomed. We both are very good at chicken math. I'll get some pics later this week I hope.
