I don't think Cassy saw them loose. Oh my, I know my phone would have exploded from texts if she did, lol! She isn't in to the livestock and birds much at all. She doesn't like the fact the birds are all allowed to free range, my Tom turkeys make her a lil uncomfortable since they are so social with people. Turkey Bacon the BBB is flat huge, and invades your space just wanting to be pet on the head, and talked to. She likes the piglets but is very leery of my adult hogs. (I do not trust any mature adult pig either.) My "Big Black" boar is a real friendly fella, and about knocks you over wanting to be scratched and loved on.

So am betting my big guy was over trying to visit Marla and not worried about people, lol. Marla the potbelly really needs to find a forever home away from my big hogs and with pigs her own size.
My new brooder setup, 10 ft by 6 ft pool, 18 inches tall for $30! Lots of growing room for the new kids! I figure I can de-flate it when I don't have chicks. It was hilarious watching them dash around their new digs yesterday! They are enjoying all the space and are just figuring out the whole running thing!

Great Idea! Nice and big -when they get older I would worry that their claws would puncture the pool. Maybe by then they will be moved out. My hatchery birds from last year never had sharp claws, at least not like this years birds. Between the birds and chicken wire my arms are a mess! I can't believe how sharp they are.
FYI - please add me to your list for those silked Ameraucanas! How early do you plan to start hatching?
My sister-in-law was terrified of him before he was even grown. Just has a paranoia where fowl are concerned and thinks they're all out to get her. Bacon followed her around the yard, asking for pets... I understand completelyI don't think Cassy saw them loose. Oh my, I know my phone would have exploded from texts if she did, lol! The pool rubber seems very thick, but it could be an issue later it is true. However for $30 it is worth a try! I will add you to my list. I like to give my flock a break in the winter so I don't put lights on them until January. I will probably look to start hatching late Feb/early March. I will reach out to my "list" in January to figure out how many and when to shoot for.
