I can't find the exact post right now. But I think someone asked about buying some goats. I have a friend in Southern Indiana that is selling some of her extra male kids from this spring's kidding season. Now these were bottle fed kids so they are very very friendly. They are disbudded. She has both wethered and breedable bucks available. In much the same way that I got lots of roosters this hatching season, she got lots of males this kidding season. Its been a year for males with people I know.
These are wonderful goats. They have a great milking line. And if one is getting into dairy goats it is typically easier and cheaper to have a buck for breeding or a weather for a friend if you only want 1 milking goat.

Hi, all. I know I haven't been terribly active here in the past months, but I thought I would stop by and let those of you who admired her through my pictures and stories that my beloved Frou-Frou left us today. I am beside myself with grief at the moment, so apologies for the lack of detail. I'm just without the words right now.

Hi there I am from Indiana too I just got chickens for the first time 3 weeks ago so far I love them I also have 2 ducks a male and a female I have some RIR's and 5 white leghorns 2 roosters and 3 hens I think lol the roosters have white legs and the hens have orange legs is this normal

My leghorns are a few months old I bought them from a lady in town who helps me when I run into problems yes I have pics I took today I'm not sure how to post them on here yet

Well I don't have very good news either.

Went to check on my Lavender Orp hens this morning and found one dead, just sick over it. She appears to have been egg bound, and with all this running around all week I didn't catch it. They had a hard molt and had not been laying. My other hen seems ok but am really watching her close now. Am introducing the pullet and black cockerel (both still very young) to the pen so she is not alone. Orp rooster is out of the pen until the molt is finished and laying resumes.
They have been the healthiest, most vigorous breed I have aside from my EEs, really blind sided by this loss. Guess it can happen in any breed, production or heritage.

I also have 3 Heritage RIR hens that I'll be listing in the coming weeks. They are laying eggs and were hatched out September of 2014.

This years weather has really affected some of the species I raise for sure. My neighbor and I both raise geese, different breeds. Both of us only had a single gosling hatch this year. I have 7 goose hens! This time last year I had over 60 goslings.
