Well I don't have very good news either.
Went to check on my Lavender Orp hens this morning and found one dead, just sick over it. She appears to have been egg bound, and with all this running around all week I didn't catch it. They had a hard molt and had not been laying. My other hen seems ok but am really watching her close now. Am introducing the pullet and black cockerel (both still very young) to the pen so she is not alone. Orp rooster is out of the pen until the molt is finished and laying resumes.
They have been the healthiest, most vigorous breed I have aside from my EEs, really blind sided by this loss. Guess it can happen in any breed, production or heritage.
