So my getting pea cocks have been vetoed preggo says they are to aggressive.. I also don't have pens for them and they would basically roam the town and I don't know the laws on that even though dogs and cats roam freely I think it'll be cool if bridgeton became not only the covered bridge festival capital but also peacock capital lol
If you happened to some how get my address( from me) and happened to release a flock of them in the vicinity I'm sure I'd start feeding them everyday lol

Yeah, not happen'in. ;)
Enjoy the pics for now and when that day comes you're prepared for them you'll thoroughly enjoy them. I haven't met a 1 that was aggressive yet and I have handled a many that wanted absolutely nothing to do with me or anything I had to offer!!

Awoken again to commotion on the deck. Another sad morning only this morning the Owl finally got its Pea! My mommas girl. Mommas boy must have been hit pretty hard during it all as they sleep nestled together, his mouth was/is full of blood and he was struggling to breathe. I held him and looked him over but couldn't find any external wounds. When i woke i saw something going on but couldn't see exactly. ..no signs of the girl anywhere. Just a few feathers floating around the deck.

I will be hand placing them up for the night tonight. I will not lose my Peas to the Owl!!

Sorry to hear about your losses. They may hate it, but you might have to think about locking all of them up for a week or two so the owl will move on to other hunting grounds. He's been so successful at your place lately that it will take a while for him to conclude there is no more food there.

Holy crap! I can't believe an owl would go after something that big! Sorry about your girl.

A full size great horned owl is a pretty large bird, up to about 2ft tall with a 5 foot wingspan. And they have been known to kill prey up to the size of full grown domestic turkeys. But they can only carry off prey that are around the size and weight of a large rabbit.
