INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Starting to think about separating my breeders into their pens...... Realized I will need to get cracking soon! It kinds sneaks up on you.

Hoping for chicks outside late april.

Going backward:

Outside late april (4-5 weeks old)
3rd week of March - Hatch (20-23 Days) Mine never pay attention to the 21 day thing.
First week of March - Set eggs
last week of Feb - Collect eggs (7-12 days)
at this point it would be nice if some of my lazy bums start laying again......
Mid January -Separate Breeders to get pure eggs (4-6 weeks)
First of January- Start attempting to get my butt in gear (up to 2 weeks)

Planning on Bresse, Mottled Javas. and Cream Legbars. And Turkeys and Muscovies whenever they decide to start laying.
Scovys usually start late March, early April latest. All the boys here are getting really busy already, this weather is making them think its spring am guessing.

Had an awesome Christmas! One of the best gifts by far was from my youngest nephew. He ordered a Foodsaver Gamesaver Titanium for us!

It takes up to 15 inch rolls. Just a heads up, anyone shopping for a better vacuum sealer the actual website is having a huge year end sale! You see the sale price once you add the item to the cart. If you sign up for fresh bucks before you order, you get an additional discount, and I was able to get several add ons using the rewards.

I'm about done with my test hatching and getting ready to set more eggs after Jan 1st. All of my birds are pumping out eggs in the breeding pens. I've mainly test hatched Speckled Sussex , Black Australorps and a few Exchequer Leghorns eggs that were given to me so far. I also had some Bielefelder eggs in the incubator now that are looking good through day 14. Attached are some photos .

Ugh, it's been a busy day already. I've had two "volunteers" show up today: a cream GSD (probably mixed with yellow Lab and/or Husky/Malamute) and another golden duckwing Asil gamecock who's been dubbed and seen some illegal action. Still have no idea who's keeping/fighting these guys. Will likely have to call the cops.

The dog was initially far more fond of eating the birds, but he seems to have calmed down and now displays a lot less interest in them. I'm going to take some pictures and post them on all the losr pet sites and get him to a vet to check for a microchip. I just got rid of the last of my dog gear.

In horrible news, our favorite hen, Brienne of Tarth has gone missing and likely been devoured.

I need Brinsea help!

I have a Mini Advance and everything was working fine. I had it set up a couple days before I put eggs in. Now, after the eggs have been set, the humidity pump seems to not be working. I have changed all the tubing, set the pump higher than the incubator (per someone's suggestion), and checked the tubing again. Water will go through all the tubing because I forced some with a syringe. The pump is moving, like it tries to move the water, but nothing will come out of the reservoir.

I gifted myself silkie/sizzle hatching eggs and after shipping and a dent in the box (thank you USPS) and now this, I'm not looking forward to a good hatch!!

Thanks for any suggestions. Going to try and call Brinsea tomorrow.
