INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Messing around with the camera and some video editing software on the new computer. Nothing special, but I figure if this group can't appreciate it, nobody can.

Going to have to see about getting some Goldens. They're just too pretty (and cheap) to pass up for me. I've wanted some for decades (I got a wildlife fact file ages ago for them), and my heart just leapt to find out even that they were available as pets. How can I pass up $50/pair? Biggest obstacle at this point is potentially the DH, the long drive north (weather permitting), and a suitable enclosure. I'd rather err on the side of caution and get a Fort Knox built for the little dreamboats.

They are stunning! Good luck, hope you can get them.

Hey all! Almost done with quarantine!!! BOAH said it would be lifted for backyard flocks on the 22nd. I have people wanting eggs so bad! I'm going to get NPIP certified soon because a friend of mine who is a chef is wanting a steady stream of eggs for dinner parties. I am going to need more hens then...oh darn!!!

I did a class on basic chicken keeping for a church this last weekend. Someone at the church knew I kept chickens and keep educating myself, so people came and listened to me talk. I was even surprised to see several teenagers there that have nothing to do with farms, but they wanted to learn!

I might try to do more of them to help with small flock education in the area.

@Mother2Hens - My first flock had coccidiosis. It was awful!

What a fun way to practice editing! What software are you using? I need to start working on my editing skills.

The new computer came with a free version of PowerDirector 10 on it. For being a free version, I'm pretty impressed. There are a lot of features that you can't use without paying, but so far the only thing that is really disappointing is varying the video speed for a time lapse effect. Everything else is just graphics and effects that I can live without pretty easily.

The best feature to me, is it separates the audio and video track so that if you want to do a cutaway shot from video you have to b-roll you can without trying to dub it from a third audio source. You can also use a webcam to record headshots or interviews as a narration. I haven't done it yet, but overall, a pretty good system with intermediate capabilities.
