INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

I have four 50% English lavender Orpington chicks that are ready to go now. They hatched Tuesday/Wednesday. Vaccinated against Marek's disease. I'm in a NW suburb of Indianapolis. Here's a couple of photos of the little cuties! I honestly don't think there is anything cuter than a lavender Orp chick.

The two male Bielefelder chicks are ready to go, too. They hatched Wednesday/Thursday. Two for $5 or I'll throw one in free with the purchase of two lavender Orp chicks. I'm sure I'll have Biele pullets later on.

PM me if interested!

So far 5 out of 12 seen one egg moving but no more pips now I'm in the nervous stage.

Either my internet died or our chatty thread went flat today. I expected after a perfect day of sunshine and warmth, I'd be several pages behind. Hope all are well?
I am sore from all the work outside.... yes mainly chicken stuff, Hauled off 10 roosters this morning then cleaned out their holding pens to open up space for the littles here now and the ones coming... because I am out of control on my hatching this year...lol

I'm lucky my wife has been a big help. After 12-16 hour workday I'm tired. Today cleared off spot where I'm going to move coop at. Well at least cleared the heavy stuff.

Maybe because of the great weather, everyone was outside enjoying it.
As for me, we were catching up on our Easter prep. Kids are finally in bed, dreaming of candy.

Happy Easter!
We took a few pics of the chicks & eggs before they left us. A few chicks went to their new home today. The eggs & Hot Cross Buns were passed out to the neighbors. The kids decided to serenade the neighbors by playing Hot Cross buns on the recorder....... to every house! What wonderful (& patient) neighbors we have!

I'm skipping over 20 pages. But if anyone is looking for a very nice and very large chicken coop, I'm selling mine.
Just thought I'd post it here, it is on CL too. I know it won't be long before all of these tiny chicks have to be moved outside.
This is a large coop, and has been put together with screws. If I had the time and manpower I would be getting it! If you can get some pictures I just know it would sell super fast.

The baby turkey with the sore bottom died in the night. Poor little Hemorrhoids stuck it out for a lot longer than I'd feared, but he just had too many problems in trying to poop (little bottom kept scabbing over after the injury). Still have two poults and the one MW tom. Major Tom seems to be perking up. I'm glad the illness is getting better, and that he never got anywhere near as bad as Falkor or jchny2000's two Hollands.

The Khaki ducklings are doing great. One is actually pretty friendly and has to nibble my hands when I put them in the brooder to change out dishes and such. Adorable babies.

Aww, love ducky nibbles! Denegard really seems to help the best in the case of respiratory problems.

I know, I always start fretting when I lock down too. I've hatched for 3 years now and am still that way every week!

Ugh, outside cleaning, clearing and building lol. Sold more turkeys today, met with my neighbor and he checked Fanny again, no calf. We are making plans for a bull coming to visit.. Have another tray in lockdown, all chickens! 2 weeks will start hatching EE with the new rooster, a black Ameruacana. Left my Lavender fella in with his ladies.

Quote: X2 weather was awesome.

ive been busy monitoring our hatching today - looking in the incubator about every 5 minutes to check on any updated hatching progress.
so far 3 have hatched & 2 more pips that i can see - maybe more pips, but the eggs are too far back in the hatcher trays to be able to tell
LOL I hate that!
