INDIANA BYC'ers HERE!

Happy Mothers Day! Long day, still wide awake. Ameruacana chicks are hatching, we have 6 tiny little lavender fluffs! This is the breeders photo having internet issues due to the rain, HQ photos won't upload.

Oldest DD gifted me 6 BR pullets for mothers day also, excited to have more "Mabels". Barred rocks are a favorite for me, and my first BR hen was named Mabel. I have Mabel #3 now but she is getting older. Strong, outgoing, feisty and human social lap girls, adore them! I have 2 young BR roosters I may hang onto a little while yet, one fella seems to be a gentleman. One of few breeds I really enjoy most.
Today was hoof trim day! Too rainy for pics I even left my cell phone inside. All 10 goats are done. The Nubian buck took ALL of us - 7 people total to finally catch him, ugh! He is not mean or aggressive at all, just timid, strong & flighty. Twilight the buck has a real addiction to dog food, my nephew was able to lure him enough to grab a horn, lol and I got a back leg! We are rotating pasture next weekend and everyone will get their annual shots then. We move the herd to a new pasture "paddock" every few weeks. Load them in our small livestock trailer and this allows me to check everyone over when we let them out, 1 by 1 including Belle. We have 652 feet of electric netting we move around the 5 acres to give our goats new forage all summer.

Happy Mother's Day to all my BYC friends!
(..... even when the kids are teens and often feel they don't need us, they're still our babies!)

The kids started making breakfast for me this morning. (They only woke me up twice to ask where things were.) DD started feeling sick, so DH took over. Then the dog vomited. I ended up getting out of bed to finish making breakfast, so DH could deal with the dog & clean up.

Although off to a rough start, I had a good day. I asked for my family's help to get the yard in shape. I ended up getting them to work both Sat & Sun, so I'm feeling pretty good. (and slightly sore.)

Oh my, your tiny little Momma hen is a real trooper! She is so precious.
DH made breakfast biscuits and gravy. My "gift" today was help outside too. One of our neighbors gifted us grapevines. We got 3 dug up and everyone helped get them planted, big vines! More trellises to go this week also. All the rain and drizzle tonight I admit I was a little cold and tired. This week is looking much better will begin hardening off tomatoes and peppers.

that's one of the cutest chicken pictures I've ever seen.

I think I'm going to have a few (2-3) pullets for sale for someone that just wants to start a small flock. They'll be 1 YO in June, and laying well. Variety of breeds so not for someone looking to have a single breed. Hatchery girls who seem to lay well and live long in my experience.

ETA: Just want to reduce my flock size some.

I'm not chopping right now, but want to help clarify for those who may want your birds, are the certain breeds? or are they barn yard mutts? I mean no offense, but it's easier to clarify now then many many messages later.

How much do you will you be asking for the hens together? Do you have pictures of the hens?
