Greetings Hoosiers!

Well I'm very new to this web-page, actually today!

We have 2 horses (both appaloosa's)
5 cats
3 dogs
Black Australorps, Rhode Island Reds, and Buff Orphington Cochin
New assortment of cross chicks, we found our black austrolorp hen out in the rain with 8 baby chicks-all survived! She sat on them without us knowing in our old horse barn-what a gal!

Soon getting 4-h goats!
I guess I'm almost neighbors to beckt.
We are looking for young pullets, that are laying or almost ready to buy for 4-h. Anybody willing to part with anything that we can show would be great.
Nice meeting everyone and there critters!

Kathy

SE Indiana here.....Seymour Area. We are trying to open a Farm rescue here. Heavens Door Acres. As soon as we can get the pastures in, and the barn floor redone...we are in like FLYNN! Woohoo. Well, still trying to find out what sorta license we might need, to be able to have adoption fees.
We have
13 RIR/Mix
17 Buff orps (2 weeks old)
6 Muscovy Ducks
1 female mallard
and a female little grey duck.
5 dogs
3 parakeets.
Oh....
and a hubby. LOL

Hi Fellow Hoosiers -

We live in the Indianapolis suburbs, on the south side. I've been reading this message board for a long time and have learned a lot. I have a small backyard flock: 3 buff orpingtons, 3 black Australorps, and one mottled Java - all pullets. The girls are just about a year old and I am still getting 5 or 6 eggs a day - and did pretty consistently all winter. Our dream is to move to a small farm, just a few acres, where I can expand my poultry and gardening operation - retire and play farmer all day.

I'm from Fort Wayne-but live in the county. If I lived in the city limits, I wouldn't be allowed to keep poultry. Currently, I have about fifteen chickens-Barred Rocks, Buff Orpingtons, Sicilian Buttercups, and a Sicilian Buttercup mix.
Chickenstock sounds like fun-I'm more than willing to help with it!!
