#1 is brown, #2 is buff or buff dundotte (looks like a girl), #3 looks lavender, but I can't see the color of the head too well

ETA: These were from Ed? I believe he has some sky blues, so the last one could be that.

They are very people friendly (unless they have babies, then they hate everyone!) but they can be jerks to other birds.
ETA: And by people friendly, I don't mean they'll let you snuggle with them, but they won't attack you either (unless they have babies!! They go for your eyes!

thank you Shelley. i thought you might have some ideas. i think #2 is a female as well. they are all beautiful.

i agree, my guinea fowl are not near as psycho as people make them out to be. they don't want to be hugged or touched, but they aren't psychotic screamers. they rarely make too much noise at all.

thanks again, Shelley! i appreciate it! i was thinking since they breed true (except pied) i might save them and pair them with my Royal Purples that i am raising up the same ages and then get more of the colors if i like what i end up with. we'll see!

Thats soo cool that they hatched.. I didnt have any luck with mine my bator temps were fluctuating too much ...

my turkey eggs didn't materialize. developed but then didn't hatch. not atypical for turkey eggs. they are like that sometimes.

that is the fun of it. a wait and see project. i have several more batches of RP's in the bator. the girls stopped laying this last week though! argh!

I made the mistake of giving my marans eggs to a hen, who proceeded to break 3 or 4 of them, which of course ruined the rest of the eggs

I had to sell my flock of guineas--kept my breeder pairs. The flock started visiting my neighbor, and she wasn't fond of their company. I really enjoyed them, though, and they were great for my blind cattle dog. Because she could hear them, she could herd them, and it kept her happy. She's rather lost now without a job to do.
