lildinkem, that puppy looks like a cuddly bear cub, he is sooo cute! Tell him to stay away from those Pacers, they get into to much trouble!

Augzilla just got in a good play session with Charlie the Golden Lab before the Monsoons started up again. Glad I have alot of Marans, It is like a swamp here.

Yes, the rain keeps coming and I keep delaying my garden. I'll be picking beans in November

Schultz try container gardening. Last year we had the conventional garden, and it sucked. Lots of weeds, too much to take care for. Too far from the house. This year I use containers, and it is way easier to manage. IF we get a freak frost they can be brought into the garage for safety.
Plus the garden gets way more chicky poopy water. I am religious about changing water for the chicks. And that water goes into a bucket, then into the garden.

Miss_Jayne, I think the would make AC's day! Poor girl is a roo magnent!

lildinkem, we have done container gardening in the past but with the amount of plants I had last year and the amount I want this year, that is way too many containers!

Last year we had 56 tomato plants and 30 pepper plants alone, not to mention carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, beans, peas, onions, zuchinni and cucumbers! I'll try and ride out the weather and see what happens! Thanks for the advice!

You must have an army to process all those plants, and keep the weeds down. It is just my wife, 5 cats, 7 dogs and 7 puppies, 4o chickens, 77 chicks in various stages of development, 30 fish, one turtle and me. And I take care of everyone but my wife and the yard. She takes care of me mostly.

Actually, I spread grass clippings around all the plants and it really helped with the weeds and retaining moisture. It was only Rob and myself taking care of the garden. I did all the canning/freezing and cooking. Rob did the eating!! This year we have added cabbage, potatoes, herbs, and pumpkins. Right now, I don't have a lot out there and a lot of my plants need to be restarted becuase of the rain and flooding.

Hey, Schultz-you know how some concerts and such ask you to bring a canned donation as your admission fee? You can have each person coming pull a dozen weeds in your garden as their "entrance fee"

Great way to get the garden clean!
