Darn! I have another commitment on the 6th. Maybe we can arrange another get together after another swap along the way. Too bad there isn't more happening in central and southern Indiana. You "northerners" seem to be more active than we are!

Has anyone heard about the swap meet on June 13th south of Leiters Ford,IN? It's not far from Rochester. I think I am going to check it out. I got a flyer for it at the last swap meet in Knox, IN.

I know everyone has got extra roos this time of year, but anybody interested in one more

I ordered a bunch of eggs from The Farmers Wife last winter, and just really like the birds. I have an extra BR cockerel though that I need to find a home for. He's 4.5 months old. You can see her birds at http://www.gabbardhatchingeggs.com/

I
already have a BR rooster from Indiana hens that I love, so this guy needs a home. He's free to a good home, and not freezer camp.

I have too many pullets ... needing to thin out a few. Ordered the minimum from McMurray Hatchery this spring and it's too many for me to get to know the "girls". I like to make them into friendly pets, but can't really tame them down like I want with 20+ pullets running around acting silly. ... live and learn. (Last year I bought 11 at our local store and it was wonderful! They didn't realize they were birds for several months!!)

I have a few Houdans, Araucana's (they lay blue/greenish colored eggs), Delaware's, Black Stars and a Barred Rock cockeral. He was shipped by mistake! I am located in Crawfordsville, IN. Would like to get $5.00 each with the exception of the Black Stars; $3.00 each. They are 9 weeks old. Strong, happy and healthy.

I am Verrrrrry interested in your girls - sent you a PM with more info

I'm not too far from you - just outside Crown Point - and can make the drive this weekend or Tuesday 6/2 if that works for you.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Treegirl!

Thanks to her, 2 Dogs Farm has its first mini-flock

I drove down to Crawfordsville this morning and came home with:
The Delaware Sisters: Noodle & Salad
The Black Star Twins: Extra Crispy & Markena
Houdan Queen Ms Misty Cologne

They are the sweetest birds - Noodle has laready been on my lap and they were all napping in the nest boxes when I went in to toss them a handful of grass clippings after I mowed.
Not a huge success, but they have all found the feeder & water so the treats are not a big deal.

Anyone else looking for nice young hens (& 1 BR roo) should look her up
Thanks again, Jackie
