I cut away most of the dead tissue, cleaned and wrapped him up. He is quarantined in a cat kennel to restrict movement.
What else can I do? Antibiotics?

Would you have knowledge on the type of antibiotic?

Medicated feed, injectable?

Our local vet will not even treat chickens.

Thank you.

The swelling make me think ti may be infected. I'm not sure what you guys can get hold of your side, but I'm sure one of the experienced keepers will advise, probably something to treat staph and can hopefully be added to water. Your feed stores may be able to help....

Keep the wound clean, for that lot of folk on this site use Betadine.

Treatments not working, no change in 3 days. he eats and drinks just fine and is happy enough. I won't be putting him back till the infection is gone or I chop his toe off.

But Seriously are you saying staph only affects the foot pad.......??????
Someone want to give me advice on cutting into that toe ??, not opinion, advice please.

I helped treat a Black Eagle with Bumblefoot, but that was with help from a vet. Don't go cutting ANYTHING without feedback from one of the experienced keepers on this site, or a vet. Perhaps you could PM Support or a Moderator and see if they can recommend who to speak with, or maybe they can put you in touch with an experienced keeper in your neck of the woods...

I don't have actual experience with anything that bad, but @casportpony might... she does know lots about antibiotics and has tons of hands on knowledge/experience with all kinds of chicken related injuries and issues... I suggest pm'ing her to ask for advice...

Sorry your vet won't help, good luck and hope Kathy or someone can give you useful help and advice...
