This girl laid an egg with no shell in the driveway today (I noticed a bunch of my girls eating it and then saw this one walking away with egg white still hanging out of her vent). She hasn't laid in about a week. She is very standoffish so I couldn't get near her until she roosted. This is what her vent looks like, it looks like it is something bad....does anyone know what is going on with her?

Try to grab her and wash her up.
See if there's a membrane still inside the vent.
Looks like she has yolk and albumen leaking from the vent so possibly the membrane broke before she expelled it.
I would give her 1 Caltrate daily for 3-5 days, just pop the pill inside her beak and let her swallow it.
Leakage like that, I would also consider giving an antibiotic. Amoxicillin (Fish Mox) can be ordered online. Dose is 57mg per pound of weight given orally twice a day for 10-14 days.

Thanks! We couldn't today, but we'll pull her off the roost tomorrow, she looked cleaner today, but I'll give her bottom and good thorough clean and get the meds in her. She is one of my favorite layers!
