Injured bird!

Help, guys! I have found a dead bird, and I have put it into a nest of dried grass and left it there and I will leave it there for an hour. I feel if it doesn't get up in a while, I should put it in the warmth until it is better. It is really cold here. Should I take it in? I have a heat plate, although some of my chicks are using it. Would that go ok? Please could you guys help me? I don't know what to do!!

P.S, do I have to take it to the vet? I don't have the time. Can I just keep it it in the house until it gets better?
