Nothing but the heat lamp.
Oh sorry I have been out taken care of my animals. The chicks when in one if my brooders that has an all wire bottom. (I keep a thin layer of shreaded paper or straw) And yes I use a heat lamp. It is about 16 ins off the bottom. And the funny this is that I have raised a few batches of chicks though it. I have the chicks that have to bubbles off the wire and away from all the other chicks. You have not really answered the question that myself and others have asked, were your chicks at any point in the cage with the wire bottom with the heat lamp? Those "bubbles" look like burn marks as i have already stated and are at risk for infection due to the fact that chickens walk around all day in their poop.
We are trying to help you diagnose what may be the problem as many issues with chicks/chickens can result in death if not treated immediately, but we need all the information.
Is there anywhere the wire could have broke or caused sharp area like folding it under? Like the wire broke after multiple batches.Oh sorry I have been out taken care of my animals. Explaining it is kinda hard without showing you. It's kinda like a figure 8 wrap between each toe. The pink/green material is Coban/self adhesive wrap. Vetrap is the name brand for self adhesive vet wrap. It is widely available at feed stores/ pet stores/ and drug stores. The pet store / feed store has a stronger hold. Also, the brand "3m Vetrap" has the strongest hold and has about the same cost as the generic. It is available in a wide range of colors and sizes. Vets and other medical professionals use it often. You may need to cut the material into smaller strips because of chick size. The video has an adult chicken.Ok I will keep them ALL for the wire. Do you have pics of that I should bandage them like??? I got them from a friend.
Thanks have all your help.
