Hey all,
So a couple days ago I posted in another forum about a dog attack (well, 3 dogs) where unfortunately 5 of our chickens died.
One was very injured in the attack. No blood. But is limping significantly. She’s not a small girl either -(she’s a Cochin. So big girl).

She’s been kept quiet (along with the others that managed to survive). I’m wondering what else I can do for her foot/leg that’s injured? Besides keeping her quiet?

I can post photos tomorrow of the Injured leg (it’s 9pm so I can’t now lol.)

Is there something I can give her to help? Incase she’s in pain?

Photo of beautiful girl prior to attack.

Mix up an electrolyte solution and give it to all of the chickens to treat shock. Shock is a medical emergency because it affects organ function for weeks following the attack. The solution is one teaspoon sugar to one cup water with a pinch of salt and baking soda. Each chicken should get this amount.

Yep this is being done daily ❤️ plus scrambled eggs, fruit and a herb mix (plus some of their feed)

Mostly they need the balanced nutrition of their commercial feed. Add water to make a gruel of it if they don't seem real crazy about it. You can also add a little plain yogurt. Go easy on the extras and treats.
