Not to sound bossy, but your chickens need to be fed a balanced chicken feed, because scratch grains only have about 1/2 of the protein and not enough of the vitamins and minerals for a proper diet. It may only cost $2-3 more for a 50 pound bag, so not too bad. You can use a flock raiser feed that will be good for baby chicks right up to roosters or layers, or layer feed if she is laying eggs. These will easily become mushy with water for a sick chicken.
