That's too bad....but it was a significant injury.
Many can heal but they have to make it thru the shock first,
there may have been internal injuries too.

So sorry for your loss. There may have been some brain damage or internal injuries. This is a common area of injury from older bigger chickens toward a smaller new addition. Bacitracin is fine to use in injuries, and it is a content of Neosporin.
