Hello!

I came home from running errands and one of my ducklings is bleeding. I’m not sure how (s)he hurt themselves, but there’s not a ton of blood (picture attached), so I’m not super concerned, but what should I use to clean it?

I have two blue Swedish ducks, and I used alcohol, on them, they were fine. It may be different for your your duck

After examining a little further and using some warm water to clean it a little, it looks like SOMEONE (definitely could not have my other two angel ducklings 😂🙄) pulled his little feather off.

I’ll wipe it down with some alcohol today, but should I continue to clean it? Or just let the duckling heal on its own, and monitor it?

I would wait a day and see if it gets better if it does not get better do the same thing, then if it still does not get better, treat every day.

I’ll probably just keep washing it with the water if it gets dirty again, I’m big on letting the animals heal on their own (if they can, of course).

Should I be worried though? This is the “outcast” duckling, the other two seem to have paired off, but have never bullied this one. I can’t be sure they did it, because I wasn’t home, but I don’t want them to hurt this duckling again if that is what happened. They’ve grown up together, and like I said, bullying has never been a problem before.
