injured eye

My Bantam chicken was attacked I am guessing. Must have been Tuesday because Monday she was fine. I found her Wednesday in the pen with her eye completely shut and swollen. I immediately removed her from the pen. She is eating and acting ok. I was at the feed store today and asked what I should do. they said to force it open and wash out and put teramycin in it. I tried soaking it with warm wash cloth but i can't get it open. Im putting the teramycin on the outside but there isn't any obvious injury on the outside. What else or what should I do.

Hi, I just read your posting. I was wondering how your hen went with the sore eye. I went out this afternoon and noticed one of our girls the same as you described. I washed her eye with warm salty water but couldn't open it either. Do you think it was another chook that did the damage? As soon as we put the girls back in their pen for the night, one of the others had a go at our injured one. We moved her into the other pen with the younger chickens and a couple of other hens and the same thing seemed to happen. Not sure what to do now. The only other available pen is the ducklings. She can at least perch above them if necessary.
