My 7 week old chick was startled running away from us when we were trying to put them up from a bit of free roaming and she was limping. left is alone to heal for about a week and she didn’t get better. her toes were curled in and she was stepping on the top of foot so tonight we made her a flat surface for her foot out of several clued together popsicle sticks. then we wrapped it with some vet wrap. tried to do it snug but not tight. she is eating and drinking but i dobt really know what is wrong so i think ill call the rural vet for some xrays and suggestions so i can di what us best for her.

With the swelling of the bones in the right foot, it could be broken, and it seems like she may have some nerve damage. Splinting can sometimes cause more problems if done improperly or the splint gets too tight. I might keep her in a dog crate with food and water to limit her activity, and not splint. A chicken sling chair might be an option too, but some chickens may not tolerate them and try to escape which could cause more injuries. I would crush 1/2 tablet of human super B complex in some food, such as egg or wet feed each day.

@Eggcessive Thank you. i think ill get into the vet to at least get an xray. what am i looking at prognosis? can it be fixed or im looking at a chicken that looses her foot ?
