My 3 month old pullet injured her foot/leg 2 days ago. I noticed her holding the foot up. I moved her into a smaller enclosure with a buddy to give it rest. I’ve noticed she has started to put more weight on it today but also noticed it looks more swollen/ possible break where I didn’t see anything originally. Can I give her anything for pain? I’m assuming with rest it will heal but in the meantime is there something else I can do for her? She is eating and drinking as normal and she’s able to move around either by hopping on one leg or putting a slight amount of pressure on the injured leg.

I'm definitely no expert when it comes to injuries but I've had limping chickens before. Some of them recover and some of them don't. Lots of things can cause limping...anything from an underlying health problem to an injury (there does appear to be swelling in the photo). I'm hoping it's just an injury. I would keep her in a place where she can rest for a while (preferably a cage within the coop/run). Just to cover the bases, I would give her a full physical - check for bugs; check the crop first thing in the morning to make sure that it's empty; check for egg inside; checks the feet, ears, eyes, nose for anything out of the ordinary. I'm hoping you just have a simple injury that will resolve with time. I had a hen that limped around for two weeks. I thought she was a goner (most of my limping birds passed), but she pulled through and is fine now.
