Injured Hen, Culled (WARNING: GRAPHIC PHOTOS)

I think an article should be made about the importance of euthanasia, the different methods, and a brief paragraph about how, if you honestly don't have a *final solution*, perhaps not keeping chickens would be in the best interest of you and future chickens.

Someone write the article and I'll add it to my New Member Introduction links! :D

There has been a previous discussion on Euthanasia:
Topic/Question of the Week - Let's talk about euthanasia

I'm pretty sure I couldn't bring myself to wring a chicken's neck. I just don't think I have the confidence to do it. I'd rather just use the hatchet and stump or a cone and a really sharp knife. Either way, the head would be removed.
Yeah, hard to go wrong with no head. I was okay with CD because when I commit to something, I commit 100%. No half-hearted pulling issues w/me, which is kinda weird because I HATE having to euthanize anything and will procrastinate until the cows come home and sometimes the goats too. My worst fear is not doing it all the way.  I'd never forgive myself if I botched a kill.
