This morning a fox came into our yard and attacked our hens, two of my girls were injured but are still alive. They have the same symptoms: trouble holding their head up and wobbly when they move. My smaller hen can stand and walk but is very wobbly. My larger hen is worse by a good amount; she's much heavier and she isn't able to stand at all. Ive had them both inside laying in our large tub to rest, and I'm syringing them water every couple hours. I am unsure what this is, it doesn't seem as if their necks are broken and I want to know how to help them.. Im trying to keep them comfortable and calm.. is this an injury they can bounce back from? I don't want to be doing them a disservice by allowing them to suffer. Any advice helps..

How are they doing now?
When you can, if you have photos those may be helpful.

You may want to gently check them for injuries. Could be they are in shock and are just hunkering down. Giving them fluids like you are doing is good. You can also add a little sugar to the water to give them a boost.

When chickens get startled/chased by a predator, sometimes they flush and fly into things. This may be what's happened too. They may just need a little time to get over shock.

Hard to know, you are there and can best access their condition. Do what you can and give them several hours to see if they start to respond.
